NO CONFIDENCE MOTION IN NEWSOUTH WALES. . Sydney, June 18. In the Legislative Assembly Mr Chapman sought to move the adjournment of the House in older to call attention to the cost: of the recent Dean Commission, it being alleged that when the Commission Bat In the morning and also in the afternoon two fees were charged, instead of the Commissioners treating the day's work as one sitting. The Premier accepted the motion as one tantamount to want of confidence, and moved the adjournment of the House, whioh was carried. The Opposition are thought to have but small chance of success. Adelaide, June 19. The Treasurer has introduced a Bill $p provide for the consolidation of the debt. It is stated that the preßenb debt of the colony amountß to £24,246,000, the annual interest on which iB approximately £l,ooo,ooo. at rates varying from 4to 6 per cent. The Treasurer has hopes that) he oan readily replace the whole of the debt with 3 per cent, bonds. A sinking fund of nob ' lesa than £50,000 per annum is to be formed for the redemption of the debt.
