Preaa Assooiatlon— Elaotrlo Telegraph - Oopjrlgh SYDNEY, June 19, Professor Agassiz reports that the scientific expedition to the Great Barrier reef proved a failure. Owing to unfavorable weather they found it impossible to carry out the dredging and exploiing work. Professor Agassiz therefore abandoned the project. The Premier states that the Government) will not take the initiative towards holding a conference to discuss the establishment of an Imperial zollverin, but if the other colonieß move in the matter and seek the cooperation of Victoria, the Government will give the request consideration.
