CRICKET.

:*• GISBORNE CRICKET CLUB. The fourth annual general meeting of the Giaborne Cricket Club was held yesterday afternoon at the Masonic Hotel, about a dozen members being present. The chair was taken by Mr A. W. Rees. After the report and balance-sheet, which showed a small amount to the credit of the Club, had been adopted, the following new members were elected : — Messrs Allan, Graham, Campbell, Baxter, Mills, T. Adair. Currie, Ferguson, Hamilton, Hillford, OvendeD, and Spackman. Mr Nolan was elected President, and Messrs Gold-Smith, Harding, Macfarlane, and Captains Tucker and Winter, vice-Presidents ; Mr J. A. Askenbeck, Hon. Secretary and Treasurer (reelected) ; Captain, A. W. Rees ; DeputyCaptain, Mr A. J. Massey ; Committee : Messrs Cuthbert, Leversedge, Chrisp, G. Bull, D. K. Porter, and Allan. It was announced that Mr Cuthbert, with an average of 18 runs for four completed innings, was the winner of the bat presented for competition among the members by Mr Qold-Smifch, and the thanks of the Club were tendered to him for the gift. The questions of a ground to play on and the opening day were left for discussion by the committee. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
