ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION IN SPAIN.

Madrid, June 4.

The Marquis Estrella, Governor of Madrid, was shot at and wounded by Captain Clavijo. The outrage was committed at the mid-day reception, and the offender was wounded by the Governor's aide-de-camp with a sabre, Clavijo, who was given into custody, admits that for some time past he hated the Governor, who prevented him marrying a lady, on the ground that he was already a married man. Clavijo has been, condemned to be shot, and the sentence will be carried out to-day.
