Wairoa, to-day;

A large meeting of unemployed was held on Saturday night, at which the County Chairman presided. Resolutions were passed urging the Labor Department to hasten the coming co-operative works on the Wairoa-Mohaka-Napier road, and pointing out that about thirty men with families, arid also a large number of single men, are^here, and requesting the Minister for Labor to absorb the local men available before flooding the district with men from other, places. They also urged the opening of a permanent branch of the Labor Bureau here,
