LOTTIE WINS THE CUP. Auckland, to-day.— The following are the results of the'first day's racing of tbe Auckland Racing Club's summer meeting : — Trial Handicap : The Dancer 1, The Sharper 2, Eve 3. Div ,£4 and £2 12s. Foal Stakes : Bloodshot 1, Forme 2, Orion's Belt 3 Also started, Armour, Dead Shot, M iss Nelson, and C wibar. Won easily. Time, lmin. 17sec. ; diva., £1 17s and £1 18s. AUCKLAND CUP. Mr J. Kean's Lottie, 8 0 1 Major George's Pegasus, 7 "7 ... 2 Mr TeKani'a Mahaki, 77 3 — Prime Warden and Royal Rose also started. Prime Warden and Pegasus were in the van to the home turn, where Lottie joined issue on the outside, and cutting down the pair won by three lengths, Pegasus being a head in front of Mahaki. Time, 3min. 36isecs. ; divs., £4 and £3 10s. This is the first occasion that a mare has succeeded in winniDg the Cup. Hurdles Handicap : Ebor 1, Fright 2, Marechal Neil 3. Won on t'.ic [mow Time, 3mina. 53secs. ; divs., £1 17s and £1 ISs. Railway Handicap: The Workman and The Dancer dead heat, Lady Moth 3 Time, linin. 16sec. : divs., The Dancer £1 63 and £1 4s, The Workman £2 16a and £2 7s. Nursery Handicap : Deadshot 1, Fatalist 2, Kingsman 3. Won easily. Divs. £135 and £41 12s. (Jhuistmas Handicap : Haria 1, Annabelle 2, Lady Marion 3 Time, 2min. 13sec. ; diva., £14 17a and £17 14s.
