SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE.
The B.t. Moa made another start at mid- 1 sight for Coast ports and Auckland, but returned to the bay again this afternoon. The 8.8. Fanny Bteamed for Napier at 9 o'clock this morning. Her departure last evening had to be postponed on account of the heavy north-east weathir. The s.s. Te Anau left Auckland at '2.30 this afternoon, and arrives here to-morrow afternoon. She proceeds to Southern ports and Melbourne in the evening, the last launch leaving the wharf at 5 o'clook. The s.s. Dingadee leaves Auckland at 4 o'clock to-morrow afternoon, and reaches j here on Friday afternoon. She steams to J Napier at 5 p.m. Tho s.s. Australia leaves Wellington to-morrow afternoon, and arrives here on Saturday morning. She sails for Coast ports and Auckland at 6 a, m. The s.s. Monowai will be the next big steamer from Southern ports, reaching here on Monday morning next. She loaves for Auckland and Sydney soon after arrival. The topsail schooner Annie Hill, which sailed for Auckland yesterday morning, ran back to the bay last evening for shelter from the north-east gale. The schooner made another start for Auckland this morning. The brigantine Eliza Firth sailed at '1 1 o'clock this morning in ballast for Lytteltou. Captain Lindsay, of the lonic, is to take command of the Coptic on the arrival of his own vessel in London, and Captain Kempson will be placed in charge of the lonic. The White Star Company, when the last mail left London, laid the keel of a steamer which is to excel in size the gigantic Gothic. She will be employed specially for the cargo trade in either the Atlantic or New Zealaud trade, probably the latter. The work of altering the Tokomaru was proceeding vigorously when the Gothic sailed for the colony. It includes the dismantling of the passenger accommodation to devote the space to cargo purposes and to the carnage of a large quantity of frozen meat, for which special insulation is being provided. The company's new steamer Aofcea is expected in New Zealand about the middle of next month. AUCKLAND, to-day.— Arri%-ed : s.s. Tarawera, at 12.30 p.m., from Gisborne. Sailed : s.s. Te Anau, at 2.30 p.m., for Southern ports.
