London, June 23. The Agents-General of the colonies reserve their assent to the Chancellor's compromise respecting the death duties, pending their hearing the exact terms of the amendment, and they have plainly assured Sir W. . Harcourt that he has no right to tax HI property situated m the colonies. The Agents fear that the acceptance of the com* promise will admit the principle of the scheme.
