SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE.
Mararoa arrived from Southern yesterday morning, and sailed and Sydney at 11.30 a.m. — • Inward : Misses Duvnen, |^IKs7 aad Dicker ; Mesdames Davis, and two children; Messrs Espie, Evans, Coster, Salmon, Mountain, ■Eke, Livingstone, Dillon, Matthewson, ■prgan, Skipworth, Main, Beswick, and Rrother. Outward : Mrs Somers ; Misses Rowley, Ingleheart, and Farmer; Messrs ■Walters, Young, Cummings, Gaghan, Gray, [Dagliier, Stevenson, Warren, Robinson, " Adair, MoElwaine, Craill, Thomas, and Fowler. . The 8.8. Ngunguru (Capt Braidwood) was to have left Ngunguru on Saturday evening with a cargo of coals for Messrs Nelson ~Bros., and is expected to arrive to-morrow evening or Wednesday morning. She steams for Auckland about Friday. The departure of the s.s. Moa from Auckland has been postponed until tomorrow evening. The s.s. Te Kepti steamed for Napier at 8.30 on Saturday evening. The Napier yacht Atlanta, bound from Auckland to Napier, m charge of Mr Anderson, arrived yesterday afternoon, and was brought into the river, where she will lie until the weather is more favorable for resuming her passage south. The ketch Nellie arrived last evening from Mercury Bay with 34,000 feet of timber, consigned to Messrs Kennedy and Evans. The master reports he left Mercury Bay on Thursday last, and experienced auch bad weather that he had to put back. The brigantine Gleaner arrived m the Bay yesterday afternoon from Kaipara, timber laden. She took the ground just below the wharf, but after being lightened, she floated off at the next tide, and was berthed at the wharf. The Gleaner experienced most tempestuous weather on the voyage. An attempt was made to come by Cook's Straits, but the weather being unfavorable for this passage, the captain thought it better to run back and come north about. All went well until the vessel was abreast the East Cape, when a heavy southerly gale was encountered, which drove the vessel about 160 miles off her course. The topsail schooner Spray was expected to leave Mercury Bay on Friday last.
