London, June 12. At a meeting of shareholders of the P. and 0. Company Sir J. Sutherland said the slackness m the Australian passenger trade had been severely felt, but the receipts from freights exceeded those of the corresponding six months by £25,000. They felt justified m recommending a dividend,' but it would be necessary to face an ugly loss upon exchange during the remainder of the year.
