IN THE MATTER OF THE "NATIVE LAND (VALIDATION OF TITLES) ACT, 1893," AND IN THE MATTER OF THE POROIKAMOANA BLOCK. a.- James Nelson Williams, of Frimley, Hawke's Bay, sheepfarmer, applies under the above-mentioned Act for the validation of his interests m the above block containing 1888 acres and 33 perches more Or less, situate m the Native Land Court district of Gisborne. B. The applicant desires to appear before the Validation Court on Tuesday, the 31st day of July, 1894, at 10 a.m., or at the first sitting of the Court thereafter. C The nature of the transaction proposed for validation is : — 1. Deed of conveyance dated the 24th day of December, 1886, entered into and made by Heni Ngakai to the applicant for the consideration of £25. 3. Deed of conveyance dated the 3rd day of May, 1890, entered into and made by Te Rina Paruparu to the applicant for the consideration of __35. 4. Deed of conveyance dated the 6th day of ' January, 1891, entered into and made by Mikaere Kaweua to the applicant for the consideration of .£lO. 5. Deed of conveyance dated the 9th day of May, 1892, entered into and made by Eruera Taopirau to the applicant for the consideration of £12. ». The land the estates and interests m which were intended to be alienated is ail that block known its Poroikamoana situate m the district of Poverty Bay and the title of tho said block at the time of the several alienations claimed to be validated was Memorial of Ownei*ship dated the 12th day of June, 1876. E. The estate or interest which the applicant seeks to obtain through the aid of the Court m the several estates and interests is a freehold. F. The applicant came to be vested with the title he now holds by direct purchase from the several vendors whose names are set out under the letter C of this application, o. The address for service of the applicant m the town of Gisborne is at the office of Cecil Albert de Lautour, solicitor. H. The applicant desires that the estates and interests of the Native persons aforesaid who executed the several deeds of conveyance set out under the letter C of this application shall be bound hy the decree of the Court and for that purpose requires that copies of this application shall be served upon them or their representatives according to the list set forth m the Schedule hereto. The applicant will also at the hearing rely upon deed of conveyance dated the 10th day of August, 1893, and made by the Native vendors m confirmation of previous deeds of transfer or conveyance or otherwise 'for the considerations and at the respective dates shewn hereunder : — • Name of Native who executed said conveyance, date of execution of said conveyance, and consideration paid to Native who executed said conveyance : — Ketekete (alias Ketekete Tuauki, 10th August, 1893, £5 os Nopera Rangiuia, 15th August, 1893, £6 Mary Moore, Mere Rangiuia, 15th August, 1893, £6 Arapeta Rangiuia as Trustee for Nopera Rangiuia aud Mere Rangiuia, 15th August, 1893 Wahipene KawOua, 29th August, 1893, £4 Herewini te Hau as Trustee for Wahipene Kaweua, 6th September, 1893. Pine Amine Huhu as Trustee for Ketekete, 7th September, 1893 Tho applicant will also rely upon the finding of the Judge of the Native Land Court at Gisborne upon an enquiry m open Court made on the 6th day of November, 1893, m terms of the Native Land Act 1886 Amendment Act 1888 finding the purchase by the applicant of all .the shares and estates of the native owners of the Poroikamoana block to be equitable and the transaction of purchase bona fide. The applicant desires that all others who may claim to be interested m the validation applied for shall also be treated as parties to these proceedings, but the applicant is unable (except as hereinbefore mentioned) to specify any names as those of persons entitled , to object to tho validation applied for.
