London, Sept. 4. The English team were all out tor M->. Jackson was caught by Gregory off Turner for 62 Gunn was bowled for 31, and Newham canied out his bat for 52. (Stoddart's ■core has not been received.) Trumble s bowling was difficult to play. The short boundary favored the batsmen, and 300 runs wore-knocked up in four hours. Murdoch did not play for the Home team as he was suffering from rheumatism. St.oddart, -who was at th« wickets for '2i hours, was eventually dismissed by a splendid catch, but he had been missed twice before. Gunn and Newham made a final stand, but tho remainder did not do much. The fielding of the Australians was excellent, Gregory and Bannerman being exceptionally brilliant. Sept. 5. The following will play for the South of England against the Australians : Grace, Lockwood, Richardson, J. T. H«arne, \\ . W. Read, Brann, Ferris, Wickham, Tmall, Hewitt, and Stoddarfc. Stoddart's score in the match against the Australians was 127. The Colonials have lost four wickets for 127. Bannerman played a free innings, and Lyons went in for vigorous driving.
