COOK COUNTY COUNCIL. AS many persons kill cattle ou their stations and sell the meat to persons who arc not in their employ, the following clause of " The Slaughter-houses Act, 1877, > is published for general information : — "If any person, without being duly licensed, shall keep a Slaughter-house or ■place for slaughtering cattle intended for sale, barter, or shipping, and not being an Abattoirs lawfully erected or provided, or a Slaughter-house licensed by the Council, or if any person shall slaughter or cause to be slaughtered, contrary to the provisions o this Act, any cattle in any house or place not being an Abattoirs, and not being a Slaughter-house duly licensed under this Act, such person shall forfeit and pay a sum not exceeding £10 for each and every head of cattlo so slaughtered." The term Cattle means Oxen, Sheep, and Pigs. This Council is prepared to issue Licenses to slaughter cattle on stations for the sum of £2 per annum. JOHN WARREN, Clerk.
