George Dale, expressman, an old resident, dropped dead last night. The cause of death was apoplexy. Duxedin, to-day. A man named Joseph Tibbies, a cook by occupation but out of work, attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat with a razor. He has been in low spirits. The wound is not considered to be serious. John Prenderville, a young man aged IS, was crushed by a fall of earth in a gravel pit at Mossburn, Southland. Ellen Spadborough, 55 years of age, died in a hut at Croydon, Southland, where she lived alone.
