SPORTING
Nafier, to-day. Stepniak, Goraint, Revolution, Rebellion, and Viola 11. arrived at Hastings last night. Monte Carlo, Prioress, Variety, and Westmere arrive to-day. Rain fell last night but was not heavy enough to preclude work on the course this morning. St. Hippo, The Dancer, Rosefeldt, Cynisca, and Swivel did the best work of the morning. Stepniak was only cantered, but will probably be treated to a gallop this afternoon. Buffand Black in the Telegraph selects Gondolier for the Hurdles ; Rosefeldt for the October Handicap ; St. Hippo for the Guineas, with Stepniak and North Atlantic in places ; Gondolier for the Corinthian ; Spinfeldt for the Maiden ; and Geraint for the Welcome Stakes. For the Spring Handicap on the second day St. Hippo, with Rosefeldt and Rangiatea in places.
