The U.S.S. Co.'s ss. Kanieri, 203 tons (Capt. Dawsoh) left Auckland at 6 p.m. on 23rd, and met with strong easterly winds and heavy sea in the Bay of Plenty. Called at Tekaha, Oreti Point, Hick's Bay, Awanui, Tuparoa, Waipiro, Tokomaru, Anaura, and Tolago Bay, but owing to bad weather was unable to communicate with Te Araroa. Heavy weather has been experienced throughout the passage. The Kanieri reached here at 11.30 last night, and proceeded on to Napier at 1 p.m. to-day. Passengersinward : Messrs Williams (3), Hodge, Burke, and Vine. Outward : Mrs Madder ; Messrs DeCosta, Murphy, Butterworth, and Eastbrook. The U.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Dingadee arrived here from Southern ports early this morning. She discharged 110 tons of cargo, and sailed for Westport direct at 1 p.m.- Passengersinward : Two steerage. Outward : Nil. The U.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Southern Cross (Capt. Adams) left Wellington last evening and arrives here via Napier early on Friday morning. She proceeds on to Coast ports and Auckland at 7 a.m. The U.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Te Anau (Captain Todd) has been detained at Auckland until noon on Friday, and will consequently not arrive here till Saturday afternoon, proceeding on to Southern ports and Melbourne at 4 p.m. The U.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Australia (Captain Gibbs) leaves Auckland this evening and •„. arrives here on Friday evening. She proceeds on to Napier and Wellington soon After arrival.
