The Overdue Atlantic Steamer.

SAFE ARRITAb IN NEW YORK. [Pek Piiess Association.] New York, June 27. The steamer Vega, reported (to hare been lost with nil hands, has arrived safely.

There were 1,247 persons killed and 11,5(KJ injured during the year ended December 31, 1891, upon the railways of the United Kingdom — an increase on the previous year. Accidents to trains, rolling stock, permanent way, etc., caused the death of seventeen persons, and injury to 1,029, twelve of those killed nnd 154 of the injured being servants of the companies, and ihe remainder passengers. Five passencers were killed 111 injured whilst ascending or descending; steps at stations. No lees than 806 perished as trespassers.
