On Satnrday afternoon the Turangamu fifteen, who play the Pirates on 2nd July, played a team of allcomers. The Turanganm team consulted of :- Full-back : Wade ; three-quarters : Burns, Loomb, Poyntcr ; halves : Eaton, Matthews ; forwards : lorest, Martin, Rogers, Petherick, DeGosta, Hepburn, Masterson, Reeves, and Smith. 11ms Petherick and Smith took the places ot Williams and Crawford, who did not roll up. The allcomers were: Full-back : Langford ; three:quarters : Tutari, Kepa, Goodall ; halves: Hare, Crowley, Fisher; forwards: Tuhoi, Wildish, Richardson, Nikora, # Kruse, Tucker, Colebourne, Allen, and Riki. Ine came was the most uninteresting one played this season. There was little or no science on either side. The Turanganui forwards showed no sign of their usual combination and uoofl loose play. The form and style of play disappointed all onlookers. Robinson, the captain, who was not playing, folowed the game on the field instructing his team, and his advice ought to have dime some good. Turanganui ought to h*ve had an easy victory, as the allcomers were picked up on the field from different clubs and had not had any practice together and were playing out of their usual places. Turanganui won by U points (2 try goals and 1 mark goal) to 5 points (one try goal) Burns wants a lot of practice at taking the ball Poynter collars too high. Eaton is inclined to get in amongst the forwards, and Masterson plays far too much offside. During the match Forest had his knee put out and in consequence will not be able to play at Napier. This will be a heavy loss for Tuianganui especially if Robinson cannot got on.
