. * I'OVERTY BAY BUSINESS. BOARD ELECTIONS RESULT. Nam Kit, to-day. — The Education Board met yesterday. Correspondence was received as follows : — From Gisborne, recommencing Mr Cuthbert for the second mastership. — Confirmed. Also from Gisborne (?), re disqualification for a seat on a school committee, asking did three years' imprisonment disqualify a member from sitting, though now he had become a fit member of society ? — The Chairman thought they had no business to answer such a question. — Answer to be sent that the Board saw no reason why a member should be disqualified for pait misconduct. From Patutahi, applying for a teacher's residence. — No funds. From Te Karaka, wanting a new school building. — Postponed. From Tiniroto, forwarding plans for the school building. A tender of £259 wi s accepted. Also desiring cections 13 to 16 set aside for a school. — Application to be made for a section for purchase. From Waeren^a-a-kuri, Mr Hill reporting on the school there. The Inspector had no fault to find with the teaching. — A reply to be sent to the committee that the Board saw . no reason to dispense with the services of the master. Captain Russell, and Messrs Onuond and Gilberd were declared elected for the vacant seats on the Board. '
