Wanganui, to-day.— The acceptances for the Wanganui Cup are : Dudu, Cynisca, Prime Warden, Whisper, Retina, Fraternite, Recluse, Occident, Dolosa, Krina, Queen of Trumps, Awarua Rose, Hakimana, Crown Jewel, Durus, La Petite Fille, Cordelia, St. Malo, She, Musket, and Paradox."
Hawera, to-day.— The Egmont races are being held to-day. There is fine weather, and a very large attendance. Hurdles : Rough 1 , Pyramus 2, Empire 3. The race lay between the two first, horses, and was won pretty easily. Time, 4min. 26? sec. Div. £2 6s. Hack Hurdles: Won by Cingalee, which paid a dividend of £74 3s. S\pling Race, 60 soys : Capt. Russell's St. Katherine (8"12) 1, Variety (8-12) 2, Snapcap 3. Four others started. Won easily. Time lmin 20sec. Divideud £2 4s.
Melbourne, Feb. 17.— Corsican has been scratched for the Newmarket Handicap.
