Patutahi School Picnic.
The following is the prize list of the chief events at the Patutahi School picnic, which was crowded out of our issue on Saturday :— Boys under 12 (100 yds) : Alex. Atkins 1, S. Dever 2, W. Phillips (2yds) 3.— Girls under 14 : May Gray (scr) 1, Sarah Greaves (scr) 2, Alice Herbert (Byds) 3. —Boys under 16 (200 yds ): Walter Black (17yds) 1, Tom Lougher (10 yds) 2, Jas. Atkins (scr) 3. — Hurdle Race (200 yds, over 6 flights) : Jas. Atkins (scr) 1, Jas. Robb (9yds) 2, Harold Lougher (30yds) 3, Walter Black (12yds) 4. Long Jump.— Thos. Lougher (14ft sin) 1, Jas. Robb (14ft 2in) 2, Jas. Atkins (14ft) 3. High Jump.— Jas. Atkins (4ft 2in) 1, Thos. Lougher and Harry Atkins (4ft lin). Girls under 12 (100yds).— Maud Thayer 1, Lettie Craill 2, Ruby Gray 3, Lily Carron 4. Race for exSchool Girls.— Mabel Sadler 1, Edith Judd 2, Esther Sadler 3, Ella Douglas and Margaret Craill 4. Hop, Step, and Jump. — Jas. Atkins (32ft 4in) 1, Tom Lougher 2, Harry Atkins 3, Walter Black 4.
The prizes were varied, handsome, and useful, the Committee having spent in their purchases about £15. The Committee desire to acknowledge presents from Mrs Bailey, Mr C. 0. Bourke, Mr James Atkins, and Mr W. Morgan.
