The ceromony was an impressiva on©, he being the firs 4 colonial clergyman consecrated. There is every probability thai a confarence will be arranged between the Pastoralists and Shearers' Unions, to be hold on Thursday nexis. The final reply . of shearers Is awaited. July 27. The shearers who are in camp at South Town on fehe river Darling, 65 miles below Bourke, captured a number of free laborers. The police, however, eventually persuaded them to release the men. The shearers bombarded the steamer which was conveying freemen to Dunlop station, with bricks and stones. The Unionists ab Wilcannia also oaptured a hundred freemen as they landed, and now hold them captive in their camp. The Sydney Morning Herald thinks Lord Onslow's despatch to Lord Knuts- , ford, giving the reasons why New Zealand is not likely to enter federation, may ba accepted as that colony's final decision on the question. The Australian men-of- war Wangarooma, Kitoomba, and Boomerang arrived at Colombo all well early in the month.
