WAIROA RACES. Wairoa, to-day. j First day's racing continued : — | Hack Race.— Engoakore, 67, 1 ; Crescent, 7 "10, 2 ; Aorere, B*7, 3. Six others ran. Lawton on Engoakore got away with six lengths' lead, and was never caught, Crescent beating Aorere on the post. Time, Imin 54sec. Div., L 3 4s. District Plate. — Bowsprit, 8 "5, 1 ; Claude, 97, 2 ; Rangapai 3. Won easily. Karangatiri, Pairawata, and Dreamer also ran. Div,, L 2 Is. Half-Mile Scukky. — Stockfish 1, Stepper 2, Havelock 3. Won on the post after a splendid race by half a head. Div., L 5. The attendance was good, there being many from Napier. The totalisator re« ceived the sum of LlBBl during the day. The following are Ihe results of today's racing : — Second HuaDi.Es. — Bit of Blue, 10-?, 1; /Argo, 10-7, 2; Karangatiri, 9 0, 3. Little Joe, 9*7, and Tikerere, 9 12, also ran. Argo and Karangatiri led, with Bib of Blue last, till half a mile from home, when Bit of Blue went up and won by half a length. Div., L 2 10s. Te Kapu Handicap.— Huerfana, 812, l';Kupenga, 710, 2; Truthful, 7 2, 3. Nora 7'o, Avis 7'o, Harlequin 612, and Papakura 6 - 7, also started. Div., L 2 7s. Time, Imin 48sec. A pretty race, won by half a length. Truthful a good third. The attendance was medium, and the weather showery. Wesleyan services on Sunday, Gisborne, 11 Mr Hill, of Adelaide, 7 Rev. J.
