The weather was fine and the wicket improved. Ulyott was batting two and a half hours, and never gave a chance. The fielding of tho visitors was excellent. In England's first innings Turner took one wicket for 53, Ferris two for 55, Trott none for 16, Trimble one for 16, and Lyons five for 31. In the second innings the Australians have lost nine wickets for 168 r.uns. Lyons, bowled by Barnes ... 33 Turner, 1.b.w., b Peel ... 2 Murdoch, b Lohmaun ... 19 Gregory, caught Lohmann, b Barnes ... ... ... 9 Charlton, 1.b.w., b Orace ... 2 Black ham, c Barnes, b Grace ... ... ... 10 Trott 0 Ferris, 1.b.w., bLohmanu... 8 Trimblo, c Barnes, b Lohmann ... ... ... 5 Barrett, (not out) 63 Burns (not out) 15 Extras 2 Total for nine .wickets 168 Barrett was at the wickets four hours, and made his runs by perfect cricket.
