Two fishermen were capsized in a boat in Port Philip, and one named Page was drowned. Bailey, the other, was rescued after he had been clinging to the boat ninety four hours. He underwent terrible sufferings, and his position is critical. A city loan of one million will shortly be floated. (Received January 19, 1 a.m.) ADELAIDE, Jan. 19. Hon. J. Ramsay, formerly Chief-Seore-retary, was horribly burnt by the explosion of a lamp in a railway carriage, and died shortly after the accident. A shocking accident occurred at the smelting works of the Proprietary Mine, Broken Hill, when a man was burned to death by mojten alag, Henry Brame, aged 60, who had been employed on the Smelters during the last two jrpars, wag engaged in wheeling some iron pots full of molten slag from tho furnace to t?ie cage where the pots are emptied. While he was emptying one pot the other pot was run out and left Stand* ing about seven yards behind him. Bramo then started J:<> drag lite pot back to the furnace, and as he walked backwards he did not see the full pot with which he collided. He overbalanced himself, and, falling on to' the pot,' upset it, and the molten mejtaj ppupd all over the poor fellow, burning him m a frightful manner. Hxs tnates ran to his assistance, tore off his burning clothes, and sent- for the doctor. Brame must have been in great agony, 1 bub the shook was evidently so great that ib completely paralysed him, and he did not make a moan. On' the arrival of the doctor morphia was injected; and Brame was removed to the hospital, where he died in little more than two jtotifH rffter admissipp.
