In tho MacLeay district miles of country aro under water, and at Glen Innus a a railway bridge has been washed away, causing traffic to bo suspended.
Arrived : Lubeck from Samoa. Affairs are quiet, but a go d deal of ill-feeling is manifested against Mr C. Coetlogan, British Vice-Consul. A public meeting has been held, at which it was resolved to petition Sir J. Thurston, the High Commissioner, to remove him. It is reported MrCoetlogan is to be promoted to the position of Consul in New Caledonia. There are great signs of discontent in Tonga, and the small juice given for copra, though no fault of the Government, tends largely to increase the prevailing dissatisfaction. The natives are quite willing to pay taxes, and are seeking various means of x-elief.

The conference of delegates from the various Railway Employees' Association throughout Australia will meet here in August next to consider a scheme for the federation of the Associations.
The vines in this colony have been almost totally cleared of phylloxera.
