Bit, Turoa, and Satellite drew away from the others, who passed the stand in a cluster. JSTearing the post Fitzjames put on a spurt and won easily by three lengths. Deceiver beat Pouawa for third place near home, a length sepai-ating the two at the finish. Time. 2min. 45.1-ssecs. L 427 on totali sator ; 90 on winner ; dividend L 4 ss. _¥OBCED HANDICAP, of 30 SOYS. 1 mile and a distance. Mr.Peka Kere Kere's New York, 6st (Donovan) 1 > Mr Hanson's Truthful ... 2 Mr Woods' General Thornton 3 The Moor (6st) also started. Katinka (910), Fitzjames (9 "7), Huerfana (9st), Criminal (Bst), The Dove (Bst), Pouawa (7*l), and Daraley (6st) were scratched. General Thornton got the best and New York the worst of a troublesome start. T-ruthful went to the front after the stand - had been passed. Now York then began to draw up, and The Moor to fall out of the race. At the turn the horses were in i •> cluster, and all had whips out.
