WEST END SCANDAL. THE PUBLIC DEMAND A PROSECUTION.

A FEW OF THE NAMES. London, Oct. 18. Owing to public feeling on the mat-tor, it is believed that the police will be compelled to prosecute those implicated in the West End Club scandal. Among the names mentioned are those of several members of the House of Commons, including Lord Edward Cavendish, M..P. for Derby. The others include Lord Cardros, thejEarl of Euston, Lord Beaumont, Lord •Arthur Somerset, and Lord Henry Somerset. [The following from the Dunedin Star's London correspondence evidently foreshadows the London scandal referred to in the above : — A discovery of a very shocking character has been made in connection with a house in Cavendish-square, and it is feared a horrible public scandal must result. Amongst the persons implicated are the youngest-son of d popular snorting duke and well-known members of both services, including several quite elderly men. The duke's sou has bolted, and the others concerned would like to, but- fear to precipitate arrest by anything of the kind. In the interests of the public the matter may perhaps be hushed up. Only a few papers have as yet got wind of the story.]
