Auckland, to-day. Tin: following is Messrs Hunter and Nolan's weekly report : — Houses : An increased number have been brought forward, and found purchasers ; but the demand has lacked force, and there has been little alteration in value. Above an average number were submitted by auction at the Durham yards on Friday. Competition was steady throughout the sale, and but few were withdiawn. We quote hacks at from L 5 10s to Ll2 los, draught and light harness horses from L 6 lGs to Ll4 10s. Wool, Hides, & Skins : Wool is being held for the series sales, but odd lots met good demand. About the usual number of hides and skins were pitched at the Durham store on Tuesday. The demand was brisk. We quote ox hides 2£d to 4|d per lb, cow l^d to 3jd, calf skins 3d to 4i-d per lb, sheep skins 2s 8d to 6s 4d each, lamb skins Is to Is 4d, pelts 6d to lid each , wool 6^d to 7|d per lb. Caitle : The supply has scarcely been up to the average, but was sufficient for requirements. There was no noticeable alteration in value. There was a small muster at Newmarket on Tuesday, but a large one of all descriptions at Puhukohe on Wednesday. Competition was good for dairy stock and stores at the previous weeks' values, but fat beasts were a shade lower. Some averages of fat steers were L 6 15s, L 6 9s 3d, L 6 3s, L 5 los, L 5 12s 7d, L 5 11s, L 5 7s 6d ; cows L4 los, L 4 7s Id, L3 l2s Gd, L 3 2s 6d. Sheep were in unusually short supply and inferior in quality. Shorn wethers sold at from 9s to 12s 6d, mixed sheep (in wool) los 9d to 18s Gd, lambs 6s to lls Gd each. Pigs : Very few yarded. Well-bred young ones sold at from 10s fid to 21s each.
