No further cases of small-pox have developed on board the Messagcries Maritime Co.'s steamer Yarra, which has been quarantined here. One of her passengers named Gould, bound for Dunedin, left the Yarra at Melbourne and journeyed overland to Sydney. He is believed to be identical with a j>assenger of the same name who took passage by the s.s. Jubilee which left for Wellington yesterday, and the local Board of Health have advised the health authorities at Wellington to be on the alert. ADELAIDE, Nov. 14. In several parts of York Peninsula the yield of wheat has been reduced from fifteen or twenty bushels per acre to seven owing to red dust. MELBOURNE, Nov. 14. The Stock Conference suggests a Commission of Experts should be appointed to investigate the specific diseases existing in Australia and New Zealand ; also that the several colonial Governments should be asked to encourage the fresh meat trade by erecting markets and chilling chambers in stock-raising centres.
