Elhmlale (H-2) 1 Touchstone (0-10) 2 Minstrel Boy (612) 3 —Other starters : Lyndhurst, Steel Arrow, Leichardt, Pet Girl, Lamond, Monte Christo, Charcoal, Pilot, (.'olden Crown, Locksley, Bustler, Lady Kingsborough, Sorella, Lapstone, Rosicrucian, and Colonel. Steel Arrow led from the start, Pet CJirl, Golden Crown, Lady Kingsborough following close up. Passill" the stand Golden Crown took first place. This was tlie position until the mile post was reached when Leicliardt ■went to the front, Steel Arrow .second, and | Lruly Kingsborough third, Lamond, Bernardo, GoTden Crown, and Ellerdale being woll up. Ellerdale at six furlongs from the post was shaken out, and she gamely came through tho others to second place. Leichardt then showed signs of "enough" and coming into tho straight made way for Ellerdale. The numbers down the straight read, Ellerdale, Leichardt, Minstrel Boy, Touchstone. At the distance post Touchstone made a brave rush for first place, passing Minstrel Boy and Leichardt, but Ellerdale proved a "game 'un " and won by a neck. Bustler was last. Time, 2mins. 37i sees.
