Strange Tale of the Sea.
-# ■ A strange tale of the sea comes from the Baltic. More than a hundred years ago two vessels went to the bottom of the Gulf of Finland, the car^o of one of which consisted of glittering silver. Two diving companies at I'ovel have lai ;!y begun to explore the submarine regions near Jussaro, where the vessels sank, and the divers have now really cmc upon them. But, like the c.istle in which the Sleepingßeauty lay. the hulls had all been overgrown by a century's growth of eeaweeds and tang. Now a way has been cut through this wet wall of weeds, but as yet tho interior of the vessel hai not been explored, ."i the divers fear that the deck is too rut ten to carry them. Of the treasures of silver nothing hns co far come to hand, but the remains of apples, cncumbeis, buckles, coffee pot?, and shoes with pointed toes have been brought to the light of day, together with some well corked bottles, all of which, however, buisb n soon as the "air of hi a^en" touched them. The second vessel li further out at sea ;on its deck lies a great heavy stone, which is evidently part of tha cargo As soon as Utn Gulf of Finland throws <ff ii coat of i< o the iuvestiga'ions will b; resumed.
