Christchukch, to day Joe Scott has commenced bis week's walking record-breaking exhibition in the Palace Rink, on a specially-prepared track, when he will endeavor to lower the famous record for 15 hoxirs, viz., 102 miles, made by himself at Edinburgh last year. In the first hour J. McCourt opposed him, scoring 7 miles 7 laps to Scott's 7 miles 1 lap ; Scott continued the second hour againstG. Mitcholaon, who brought the total up to 14 mile?, Scott 13 miles 17 laps ; F. Bowcn went on thf third hour, bringing the score to '20 miles 9 laps, against Scott's J9 miles 6 laps. Scott continues the walk till Friday, doing 3 hours each evening, and on Saturday will attempt to lower the world's fifty-mile record, made by himself at the Royal Aquariam, London, the record for which stands at 7 hours 58 mins. A fresh man will start against Scott every hour.
