FORCED HANDICAP, of — aovs ; 1 mile and a distance ; nomination, 15s ; compulsory to winners ; optional to losers and hacks CONDITIONS : I— No person shall be allowed to start a horse iv any race.other than the Hack Race, unless he be a subscriber of at least 1 soy to the race fund. 2 — All protests to be lodged with the Secretary in writing, within fifteen minutes after the race, accompanied by a deposit of 2 soys, which will be forfeited if the protest be not sustained. 3 — The decision of the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, will in all cases be final, and nominations will be received only on that condition. 4 — Nominations, enclosing entrance fees, name, age, description, and pedigree of horse, and color of rider, to be in the hands of the Secretary not later than 8 p.m. on the 18th of Feb. 1888. Nominations to be addressed — " The Secretary of the Tologa Bay Jockey Club. Tologa Bay Hotel," and marked "Entry for Tologa Bay Races." No delayed Nominations will fee received. s—The5 — The above conditions, and the code of Rules of the Auckland Turf Club, including the Schedule of Weights, will be strictly adhered to. 6 — All nominators of horses for thie meeting will, for the purposes of the meeting, be deemed to be the owners. McMillan, 40 Hon.- Sec. and Treas. LAKE WAIKARE-MOANA AND WAIROA. TOURISTS' tickets will be issued to Lake Waikare-Moana and back, provided there are not less than three Passengers. The start from Gisborne would be made by Coach on a Monday afternoon (if convenient to Tourists), and would arrive at Green Park same evening. The next day the Waihau Lakes would be reached for lunch, Maru Maru Caves could be visited jn the afternoon, and Frasertown made in the evening. The following morning hacks would be provided, and Waikare Moana reached in the afternoon. Thursday and Friday would be devoted to exploring the Lake and district, and on Saturday the return ride would be made to Frasertown. The Coach would then run into Wairoa for the night, and on Sunday the return would be made to Green Park, arriving in Gisborne on Monday morning. Fares for the trip, including coach, hacks, boat, guide, and hotel expenses, £6 ; if more than three Tourists, £5 10a, Trips can be arranged at R.
