AN AUCKLAND FIRE.

SUSPICIOUS CONDUCT. Auckland, to-day. The house of Miss Mary O'Connoll, Franklin, was discovered on Friday night last in flames. Tha fire was suppressed by neighbors, who found the doors and windows all securoly fastened. Two separate fires had been started with rubbish saturated with kerosene, and the furniture was all removed. Miss C'Connell was near the house when the fire was first seen, but went away, refusing to give the keys. She was arrested later in the evening, when she declined to give information as to insurances. She said somebody must have stolen her furniture and set fire to the house.
