1 Tho barciue Arkenshaw sailed 'rom London or Obff™ on Oct. 21 with 870 tons of machinery and cement for the Harbor Board. The freight costs £1200, a most reasonable sum, considering that she cannot load here but will have to take in ballast by lighters, j a aomewhat expensive operation. The Union Co-'ss.s. Ohau (Capt. Bernech) arrived from South at 6.30 a.m. with Mr Shelton and Constable McGill. She proceeded on to Tauranga and Auckland at 9.30 a.m. The s.s. Southern Cross is expected from Auokland to-morrow forenoon. She goes on South at S p.m. The s.B. Australia arrives from houtn on Friday morning. The ship Waipa is advertised to leave for London via Napier on the 28th instant. At Napier she completes her cargo of wool. The schooner Waiwera sailed yesterday afternoon for Mercury Bay in ballast. The brigantine Enterprise left Napier on Monday for Gisborne, with timber. The barque Wanganui (Capt. Adams) left Narier on Sunday morning, taking a cargo of wool, tallow, etc., valued at £73,417 11s Bd. The Bluff Harbor Board tug Awarua returned from her visit to the Snares on Mon day afternoon, having found no trace of those supposed to have be«n at that place. The Awarua Bteamed slowly round sounding the whistle at intervals, but found no signs of anybody. On going down the tug steamed along the south coast of Stewart Island, but saw no signs of wreckage or anything to lead to the supposition of any vessel having been lost. The search was made in consequence of a report made by the ship Waikato last week that a fire was seen burning on the Snares. London, Dec. 7. The P. and O. Co. 's R.M.S. Ganges arrived at Plymouth yesterday morning from Melbourne. . The Orient Co. 's R.M.S. Potosi has arrived at Naples. Her Australian mails were delivered in London to-day. Rio de Janiero, Dec. 7. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co.'s s.s. Doric, which left Lyttelton on Nov. 20 arrived yesterday morning, She left in the ovening for Plymouth. Her cargo of frozen mutton is in good condition. Melbourne, to-day. The Union Co.'s s.s. Tarawera sailed yesterday afternoon for the Bluff via Hobart. Sydney, to-day. The Union Co.'s s.s. Te Auau arrived yesterday afternoon from Auckland. Auckland, to-day. The s.s. Southern Cross sailed for Gis borne via Waipiro at 6.15 p.m. yesterday.
