Mr. Bryce, Mr. Hursthouse, and Wetere will proceed through the King Country to Taranaki, via Mokau, after the trial of Mahuki and his followers is over.

Captain Johnston, of the Marine Department, and J. Blackett, Engineer-in-Chief, have gone to Kaipara to fix the site for a lighthouse to be erected there. Mr. McMinn, or Harapapa, of Waikato, was found dead in his bed.

The Auckland Agricultural Company's first annual report shows a profit of £1,300 being 16| per cent on the paid up capital. Eight per cent, dividend was declared. The balance was carried forward.
