Aulanta has been one of the most successful performers on the New Zealand Turf. At 4 years old won the Oamaru J. C. Handicap, and r*n second to Glengarry in Dunedin J. C. Handicap ; at 5 years won Free Handicap at Christchurch ; at Timaru won South Canterbury J. C. Handicap, Tradesman's Handicap, and Forced Handicap ; at 6 years won a number of races including Handicap at Dunstan. At the sale of Mr. Deiamaine's stud, 13th November, 1877, she brought 260 guineas. PARTHENUPCEUS, a Dark Bay, rising 7 years old, is a splendid specimen of the Thoroughbred Horse, uniting in a remarkable degree Symmetry with Strength, being thus admirably adapted to get weiglu-carrying Hacks as well as Race Hones. He whs sold ut the above mentioued sale for 350 guineas. Possessing the celebrated Traducer blood of his sire, and fiom his dam the blood of the still more celebrated Sir Hercules, he presents a combination of the moat fashionable and successful strains in the Southern Hemisphere. The Australasian in speaking of the Sir Hercules blood remarked: "No family has gained miicli a reputation as (hat which descent's from the Colonialbred Sir Hercules. In contests of every description the representatives of this line had achieved more than their share of popular triumph."
