RESIDENT MAGISTRATES COURT.

YSSTKRDAY

H. £. Webb v. G. Bouijen.— Claim 10s, advertising account. The defendant ! pleaded that he had previously paid the account, J. Wallace deposed that he paid the amount to Mr. Webb in Mr. Scrivener's Hotel, on account of the defendant. Cross-examined by Mr. Webb : He got a receipt, but could not and it. He paid the amount in the presence of a witness. Mr. Webb said that as it was a matter of personal veracity he would leare it to their Worships. Maurice O'Connor deposed : He remembered 10s being paid by Mr. Wallace to Mr. Webb. Cross-examined : I was not more drunk than you were ; might hare taken a glass. The Bench dismissed the cue, with costs.
