PAUTHENOPCEUS, a Dark Bay, rising 7 years old, is a splendid specimen of the Thoroughbred Horse, uniting in a remarkable decree Symmetry with Strength, being thus admirably adapted to get weight-carrying Hacks us well as Race Horses. He was Bold at the above mentioned sale for 350 guineas. Possessing the celebrated Traducer blood of his sire, and from his dam the blood of the still more celebrated Sir Hercules, he presents a combination of the most fashionable and successful strains in the Southern Hemisphere. The Australasian in speaking of the Sir Hercules blood remarked: "No family has gained such a reputation as that which descends from tho Colonialbred Sir Hercules. In contests of every description the representatives of this line had achieved more than their share of popular triumph."
