In Russia a commission has been appointed to inquire into the cause of the anti-Jewish feeling there. It is stated that at the interview between the Czar and Emperor of Germany, the Czar promised to remain neutral in case Germany should be drawn into any war. Gambetta is reported to hare Raid in one of his election speeches that if patriotism and disdain for material enjoyment had prevailed more largely in
France, tho memory of Sedan would have been wiped <>ut. A meeting of Deputies representing all ♦he principal Jewish communities in Russia is t<> bo held, to consider their apparently hopeless condition. The authorities a' Copenhagen have been advised that infernal machines are to be sent there from America by Nihilists and Fenians, for reahipment to Prussia and England. The Porte has returned a favorable answer to tho request for a piece of land in Syria for the persecuted Jews of Russia and Germany.
