SYDNEY. Thursday. A crowded meeting was held at the Masonic Hall last night, at which resolutions were passed expressing sympathy with the persecuted Jews in Russia, and a committee was formed to raise subscriptions. Over £1000 were subscribed in the room. Twa fresh cases of small-pox are reported to-day. Rumors are freely current of gross mismanagement at the quarantine station. ADELAIDE. Thursday. The steamer Euro struck on a rock neai' Beachport, and became a total wreck. She sank in twenty minutes. One lady passenger was drowned ; the remainder and the crew narrowly escaped with their lives.
