CORRESPONDENCE.

[We do not hold ourselves responsible for opinions expressed by correspondents.]

[To the Editor of the. Herald.]

SIX, — The bridge now being put up over the Taruhei v River will be of great convenience to the town people who are fond of taking regular exercise. They will be üble to have a ramble over the hills, and not confine their walks to the sea beach. The question has been asked, why is tho bridj*.- put all askew, and net straight across from the middle of the street. It is alleged by practical men that it should have been put up parallel with Peel Street. To an ordiuary observer certainly had this course been adopted it would have been more sightly. Should not the Borough Council have been consulted before fixing the site. I am, yours, &c, Pedestrian.
