LONDON.
March 21. At the wool sales to-day, 930 bales were offered. The tone of the sale showed a hardening tendency. March 22. The Prince and Princess of Wales started to-day to vist St. Petersburg. March 23. Consols have declined one eighth, and now stand at par. In the House of Commons to-day, Mr. (lladstane announced that the Boers had accepted the conditions of peace under which they will recognise the suzerainty of the Queen in the Transvaal, but enjoy a complete autonomy, with the British residents being, however, located in their capital. A Royal Commission would arrange the Native frontier question, and would consider whether the Transvaal should lose any territory to the Eastward. The Boers would dispesse their forces forthwith ; but the .British garrisons would remain in their present positions until a complete settlement had been effected, and in the meantime troops would bo stationary. CAPETOWN. March 21. Sir Hercules Robinson will be a member of the Royal Commission to enquire into the demands of the Transvaal. The Boers armistice, which expires to-day, will be prolonged another fortnight, the sole difficulty to a complete understanding is the condition that the Boers shall surrender their arms. CALCUTTA. March 22. Abdul Ralf Rahmany Ameer at Cabul, has sent a large body of troops to Candahar as a measure of precau-' tion against any action on the part of Ayoub Khan.
