News of the outbreak • was, however, soon recived at Pretoria, and the Governor of Transvaal, at once ordered all available ; troops in the district to be dispatched to Heidelberg against the Boers. The 50th Regment has been* ordered from England for service in Natal. • A serious railway collision has , occurred at Leeds. Limerick has been proclaimed a disturbed district. NEW YORK. December 21. . A panic has taken place in Chicago owing to numerous grain failures. Price of wheat if falling.
