PROGRAMME: First race to start at 12 o'clock, sharp. HANDICAP HURDLE RACE, £40— 2 miles ; 8 hurdles, 3ft 6in. Top weight not to exceed 12st. Nomination £2 ; acceptance £2 ; with a sweepstake of £1 at the poßt for second horse. To start at 12.45 p.m. HACK HURDLES, £10—1 mile ; 9st 71bs for horses not trained for the November races. Post entry, £1. To start at 1.30 p.m. MADDEN PLATE, £20— 1£ miles; weight for age, 2-year-olds and upwards ; for all horses that have never won an advertised flat race exceeding £25, nett. Entrance, £3. To start at 2.15 p.m. BOXING DAY HANDICAP, £50—2 miles ; top weight not to exceed lOst. Nomination £2 ; acceptance £3 ; with a sweep of £1 at the poat for second horße. To start at 3 p.m. HACK RACE, £10—1 mile; catch weightß. For horses not trained for the November races. Post entry, £1. To start at 4 p.m. LADIES' PURSE, £25— 2£ miles ; welter weight for age ; gentlemen riders, members of the Waerenga-a-hika Jockey Club. Entrance, £3, with a sweepstake of £1 at the post for second horse. To start at 5 p.m. i FORCED HANDICAP, £20—1 mile ; all winners compulsory (Hacks excepted) ; all losers optional. Top weight lOat. Post entrance, £2 ; second horse to Bave his stake. CONDITIONS. The Poverty Bay Turf Club Rules will be strictly adhered to, unless where otherwise specified. Qualification to non-members, £1 Is. Members will not be allowed to nominate horses the property of non- ( members, except by paying £1 Is for , each horse (hacks excepted). Any Jockey riding except in the colorß entered, and proper Jockey costume (except hacks) will be fined £2, and thia rule will be strictly enforced. j Any person entering a protest shall deposit the sum of £3 with the Stewards, and such protest proving frivolous, the amount shall be forfeited to the Club. ] All protests must be entered within 15 minutes after the race, or the Stewards ■will not entertain it. No entries shall be received except upon the conditions, viz : That all disputes, claims and objections arising out ; of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards, or Members of the Committee, whom they may appoint, and their decision sliall be final. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles and Boxing Day Handicap, must be sent (sealed) to the Secretary at the Wai« renga-a-hika Hotel, Waerenga-a-hika, Poverty Bay, by 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday December Ist, 1880, enclosing entrance money and qualification, name, age, and color of the horse. No entries will be received after that time, unless by letter (registered), or telegram bearing that or previous date. Acceptances for Hurdles md Handicap, (enclosing colors) and night of General Entry at the Masonic Hotel, Gisborne, on Saturday December 18th at 8 p.m. The Btakea will be paid (less 5 per cent, commission) at the Waerenga-a-hika Hotel on Wednesday, December 29th at 7.30 p.m. For any match run on the course, £2 2s must be contributed to the funds of the Club.
