In introducing this eligible'inyestment ■< to the notice of the public, the promoters desire to state that ,the. Company's rights comprise the best, most avaliable, extensive, and perhaps most valuable Marble deposits, in the known world, at , all events in the- Southern Hemisphere. This is sufficiently proved; by .Caswell ( Sound Marble securing the i'f(wt prizes -it the late Sydney Exhibition against Italian Statuary y and ; other valuable ' yarities. T'They also wish to dwell upon its known certain tyand non-speculative character, the ultimate success of this venture being now well established. The' lowest quotation' for this v Marble is 12s. per foot, and ranges up ' to £5. ' Larger blocks, are, however, much more valuable j , some pure White Statuary, without flaws, realising as much as J620,000 . sterling' in Europe. The ' 'ordinary price for a block suitable for ia - life-size humam statue being about 2 ■filOOO.' The present cost of producing this -Marble by manual labor only, is I about 2b. per cubic f00t, 4.p.b. these .figures, may, appear incredible, but they are . nevertheless absolutely correct. - Thus, taking ..the cost . of production as . stated and : the very -lowest wholesale ' quotation at 12s. per foot, gives the J apparently fabulous minimum rate of: 500 per cent, profit. . . It ; is, therefore, ' no. visionary matter, as these, are. leading { . commercial .lines and the values well .known, the facilities of production, j shipment, high ;quality of produot, { giving a vast advantage- over any like ■ property, in ; . the ■ world... t . We will also venture jo predict that' the value of the , Company's shares, will increase .at least 300 per cent, within twelye months, pf • issue..^ Referring to cohsumption of : these •commodities^ it is also enormous. The consumption of Marble^ (Portland ■" • Cement, and Lime, ; in. , the Australian ; Colonies. alone during the last twelye months-.has been £2,872,600 sterling, j and rapidly increasing. Caswell -Sound is a comraodious and safe harbor for the largest vessels - in all' -weathers, -' the i work of ' the Company :being aituftted at L the water's; edge. . ..The. Government of this colony has also . promised to favor. f%biy; consider special -grants . and 1 conVessiohs in aid as ' soon as ,the : Gprnpany , 18 successfully floated. 1 Further particulars re other i minerals -found at the Sound, copper, ooal, gold, <Bso,, also the manufacture, of hydraulic cement, lime, ■ ' .&^^togetherwithßcien£ifi ; c, professional,' Government, . and other reports, with - details of the objdets and intentions :of ! the Company,- we refer-to the Proapeotjis; which can be obtained upon application j to, any of the'bfficers of the Company or from Company's Agents, the Bank of I "New Zealand, at any of their branches ■ in thisjcblony and Australia. 626 ;
