The Home Wool Sales. LONDON. November 23. The first series of wool auctions opened to-day. There was a good attendance of Home and Foreign buyers. The catalogue comprised 48,000 ; bales. Prices were firmly maintained and a fair competition. The present series will close on December 14th. , _. Affray in Ireland. A sanguinary fight took place today at Ballina, County .Mayo, between the police and some people obstructing the arrest of some leaguers. Several policemen were severely wounded. Fifteen persons have been arrested -,-■ in Mayo, on charges of intimidating at Ballinrobe. News has been received from Cape Town that a tribe hitherto friendly have twice attacked the Colonial Residency' at Seria, Basuto Land, but were repulsed. On the 13th Nov., 1500. Colonials ■ repulsed 5000 Basutos, 300 of whom were killed and wounded. The Colonials had only six killed and wounded. CONSTANTINOPLE. ... • <•.....■ November 24. Dervisli Pasha/ in advancing on Dulcigno, met the Albanians in' great force, and fired upon them. The enemy replied most vigorously, which compelled Dervish Pasha to suspend his advance on the city.
