Maiden Plate of 30 soys., weight for age, distance one mile and a half ; for all maiden horses that have not won an advertised race of the value of £20, stakes and added money included (matches excepted) at the time of enttance. Start at 12.45 p.m. 2. Ladies' Purse of 40 soys., three miles, welter weights for age ; gentleman riders only. Start at 2 p.m. 3. County Stakes of 20 soys., for all horses bred in the County of Cook, weight for age ; winner of Maiden Plate to carry 71bs extra ; distance, one mile. Start at 2.45 p.m. 4. Tradesmen's Handicap of not less than 50 soys ; nomination of two soys. on the Bth January, 1881, and acceptance of two soys. on the sth February, 1881, night of general entry, and sweepstakes of three soys. on- the 9th of February ; weight to be declared on the 15th January, 1881 ; top weight not to exceed lOst. ; distance one and a half miles. Half of sweepstakes to second horse. Start at 3.30. p.m. 5. Selling Race of not less than 30 soys. The winner to be sold immediately after the race for 40 soys., if entered to be sold for 30 sovs. , allowed 71bs. ; if for 20 soys. allowed 141bs. ; if for 10 soys. allowed 211bs. Weight for age, 1 mile. Start at 4 p.m 6. Hack Race of 5 soys. for all hacks only that- have never been trained, 9st. up, entrance of — soys. ; distance one mite *, half entrances added. SECOND DAY. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11th, 1880. 1. Hurdle Race Handicap of not less than 50 soys. ; nomination of two soys. on the. Bth January, 1881, and acceptance of two soys. on the slh February, 1881, night of general entry, and sweepstakes of three soys.. on the 9th February ; weights to be declared on the 15th January, 1881 ; top weight, 12st. : over eight hurdles 3ft. 6in. high ; distance two miles. Half of sweepstakes to second horse. Start at 12.45 p.m. 2. Hack Hurdle Race of £10. For all hacks that have not been trained for this and the Waerenga-a-hika meeting ; post entrance. Start at 2 p.m. 3. Publicans Purse Handicap of not less than 30 soys. ; nomination of one soy. on the Bth January, 1881. aud acceptance of two soys., and sweepstakes of two soys. on the night of the first day's races, when weights will be declared. Turanga Stakes Handicap of 100 soys. ; nomination of two soys. on the Bth January, 1881, acceptance of four soys. on the sth February, 1881, night of general entry, and sweepstakes of 3 soys. on the 9th February ; weights to be dcdclaredon the Isth January, 1881 ; top weight not to exceed 9st. 81bs. Consolation Handicap of 15 soys. ; post entrance of one soy. each • for all beaten horses at this meeting ; distance, one mile and a distance. Start at 4 p.m. 9. Hack Race of 10 soys., for all hacks that have not been trained for this aud the Waerenga-a-hika meeting ; ppst entrance, lOst. up ; distance, one mile ; half entrances added. CONDITIONS. First race each day to start at 12 o'clock punctually. Handicaps to be made by the Handicappers No owner or nominator shall be qualified to enter a horse unless both be subscribers of at least Two Guineas to the race fund. Second horse to save, his stakes, excepting in Handicaps and Hack Races. All entries (except the Tradesmen's Handicap, Hurdle Race Handicap, Turanga Stakes Handicap, and Publicans Purse," which are to be sent in at time, and as above specified addressed as below) must be in writing and forwarded to the Secretary at the Masonic Hotel not later than 9j>.m., on the sth February, : 188 i, ■ and enclosing fee oi 10 per cent, on value of stakes together with qualification. All. entries to include; names, description, ' 'and age :> of horses, and colors oi riders. ■'■'-. Jockeys to ride in colors as described in entry, otherwise subject to a penalty of. one .pound;" : ■ The winner of any match run on the course to pay 20s. to the race funds.
