To Stand This Season, At Mr. W. Kino's farm, MAKAURI, the Magnificent Entire TERENGA. T"pERENGA is a beautiful dark ches_L nut, and stands 15hand3 3 inches. He is sound as a bell, thoroughly goodtempered, and has proved himself a certain foal-getter. He is by Ravensworth (sire of Guy Fawkes and Papapa), out of Phoebe, one of the grandest mares New Zealand ever produced. Terenga's dam traces back to the celebrated Sir Hercules, and he himself shews a quality not to be surpassed. (The full pedigree wil shortly be published. Phoebe is by Sir Hercules —Woodstock by Theorem. Ravensworth is by Touchstone — dam Fair Jean by Vereuiam. Terenga took first prizes in Hawke's Bay in 187-78 as the best stallion for improving the breed of horses in the district. One of his foals out of Hatred won two prizes as the best thoroughbred foal in 1876, and the best yearling in 1877. All Terenga's get are grand jumpers. Terms : Single mare 3, SA 45. ; Owners of two or more mares to be served can make arrangements. Good paddocking free for one month, after which time 3s. per week will be charged. . Symphony by Trumpet, dam Princess by Grate's Marchioness, own sister to Towton, won the Oaks in 1865 ; Marquis, brother to Towton, the 2000 guineas in 1862, ran second tor the Derby, and won the St. Leger. Benathalath took the first prize at the Poverty Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society's meeting in 1878 as the best thorough- bred entire, thus beating Parthenopeus.
